Thanks Bill.
Indeed, there seems to be quite a few students of Theosophy who sense
this disconnect. While HPB constantly wrote about living and applying
Theosophy, I have, over the years, heard a constantly repeated question:
"Where is the application?" I'm quite certain that HPB never intended
her writings to become canonized in what are functionally "Theosophical
Churches" where people endlessly read and re-read her writings. She
began an extraordinary discourse which, I believe, she intended to be
carried on. Instead of doing so, students sat around for the next
hundred years waiting for the next teacher to arrive.

Dear Jerry,
Excellent presentation! Please do continue.
You say, "Theosophical notions
must be tied into normal reality and have a function there."
Bravo! I might add that theosophical notions should arise from normal
functional reality as well. Theosophy has no particular value as an
authoritative explanation of abstract concepts. However, it is valuable as
guidance aimed at awakening our self-determined peace beyond understanding
regarding the universal problems and unanswered questions that our shared
human condition evoke within us.
