Yes that a good question...I wish I had an accurate answer 
In Australia and perhaps in other countries as well it's a slang
expression,used in an general sort of context like -
"it dosn't matter whether your Christian, Jew, Buddhist or
Callathumpian..."

Who knows it might be a profound philosophy we should all be looking
into, maybe there's a Callathumpian society!
