Since there is no indication that HPB attended "conferences" in order to
demonstrate phenomena, the story is on the face of it quite unlikely.
Further, Crowley was born in 1875 and HPB died in 1891. So the famous
Golden Dawn member could not have been any older than sixteen at the
time of the alleged incident. Crowley came on the Golden Dawn scene
through Mathers around 1904 or so--thirteen years after Blavatsky's
death. I'm yet to see any documentation that Blavatsky and Crowley ever
met, but would be very keen to know if anyone has any.
