Re: Theos-World Towards Within

Hi,

Just sharing some thoughts

Towards Within

“If that is clear, the next point is, in observing
there is always the observer. The observer who, with
his prejudices, with his conditionings, with his fears
and guilts and all the rest of it, he is the observer,
the censor, and through his eyes he looks, and
therefore he is really not looking at all, he is
merely coming to conclusions based upon his past
experiences and knowledge. The past experiences,
conclusions and knowledge prevent actually seeing.”
Krishnamurti

The observer is the personality, the conjunct of our
emotions and thoughts, and for that is unable to see.
In reality he mentions that there is no observer or
the observed because they are one. This state of mind
described by Krishnamurti, remind me what Jesus said
(please I am not making any analogy relative to the
idea of a World instructor):

“Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like
children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
Whoever becomes humble like this child is the greatest
in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever welcomes one such
child in my name welcomes me." Matthew 18:1-5

A mind not enlightened by Buddhi will not express
wisdom but intellect and will lead the aspirant to
face the great dragon, arrogance. If you refuse to
face it he will trap you in the future, and if you
believe you have won it, he already devoured you.

Humbleness as is an inner state that is open to the
possibility of mistakes in any intellectual conclusion
and open for the new. Actually the really wise man is
the one that knows how ignorant he is.

In this sense a mind that inquires having expectative
it’s not humble, it’s not simple, it’s a mind that
inquires within conditionings, it’s a mind unable to
grasp the truth, because it’s unable to make truth
inquires. The very process of searching for the truth
requires a mind able to search for it free of
conditionings. For how the eternal can express itself
through the non eternal, how the real can express
itself through the unreal? How the unreal can even
suspect of the existence of the real?

Attachments to the personality, to the physical life,
to the beloved ones, to teachings, any kind of
believe, any kind of projections reflected by a mind
that seeks answer to please the inner ego, or to
comfort the fears are subterfuge of a mind immerged
into illusion. Such mind has not the ability to
inquiry about the truth.

David Bohn’s says: the idea that the scientific
theories are only models of reality, are a way to see
and to interpret nature and not reality by itself. He
goes on saying that the experimental results are
answers to questions formulated by scientists and the
nature of such answer are linked to the nature of the
question, in this way a fragmented question will have
a fragmented answer.

What is the greatest illusion on the light of
theosophy? Separation, division. To realize oneness
not theoretically but practically it’s the greatest
challenge of the real aspirant. We could say that it’s
not necessarily a challenge but a step that he will
climb soon or later. And this requires a completely
inner change, in other words, regeneration.

Our reflexes our reactions, our thoughts are connected
to every previous experience we had.
In this sense even the process of inquiring, if it’s
not raising into a mind free of conditionings, is
going to be filtered by expectative of the ego, and it
wont be a real inquiry.

To search for the truth is a task that moved many
philosophers, students, sages poets etc. The very
process of inquiry requires a mind that is completely
free from any kind or personal expectative, from the
search of comfort or answer to satisfy the ego. The
truth always was a path covered with stones that very
few can tread because, it requires no hypocrisy, no
attachments to any form of religion, of cult, of
creed, believe or system. It’s a process the starts
from within.

Blavatsky also in the very beginning of the Voice of
the Silence says:

“Having become indifferent to objects of perception,
the pupil must seek out the rajah of the senses, the
Thought-Producer, he who awakes illusion…”

The illusion of an individual existence, the illusion
of the Me. Unfortunately such stage can’t be reached
simply by the practice of meditation or any other
technique, if so as one of the Mahatmas mentioned, the
whole India would be enlightened by now.

The journey towards within for many starts with inner
crisis and ego conflicts. For others the soul can hear
faintly high tones of the eternal sound, and abruptly
be aware of its miserable state. That’s when the
journey towards within starts, the trigger might be
millions of different reasons, but it will have a
trigger. The neophyte will face his inner demons, and
lost in the labyrinths of his soul, he will wonder for
light, in ultimate loneliness.

At this point there is nothing that can be done, the
inner battle started and it depend exclusively of him.
In other words this could be described also as the
dark night of the soul, that for many can remain a
life time. For others, can end up in tragedies and the
loss of the equilibrium and balance, and for others
can result in enlightenment. But it will eventually be
a step that everybody will face at some point into the
evolutionary path.

How to become indifferent for the objects of
perception? How to locate the thought producer if we
are identified with it? It’s necessary to transcend
the ego, it’s necessary to break every inner barrier,
every conditioning, every believe, the sand castles
built by the mind and the emotions are going to be
down.

Without the journey towards within every discussion,
inquiry, observation will be fragmented and only into
the level of speculation and intellect. A real
understanding follows a real effort, not guided by the
chains of the ego but by a clean mind and a pure
heart.
