I did, and did not get an entirely forthcoming answer, but I gather 
you are correct about concentrations in Wheaton and Ojai. I used to 
live in NYC, and I only remember one person stating to me that he was 
a member of the ES, so I'm sure Bart's count of 2 in NY is right.

I've been told by a number of gblt TS members (mostly in NYC) that 
they are not members of the ES for this reason, but I don't know of 
anyone who has aggresively pursued the issue. So I don't know how 
signficant the controversy has been. To my mind, such an intolerant 
position on ES membership does the TS no favors, as it communicates 
to gblt members that they are welcome.... but only up to a point.
