Dear Krishtar,
Yes, but isn't that the reason HPB gave out theosophy as a "synthesis of
science, religion and philosophy" and tied that path of "knowledge" together with
the heart doctrine of the Voice of the Silence which pointed out the inner
path of meditation leading to true wisdom?
Surely, her aim was to guide her students into becoming truly effective
Bodhisattva's who could help and teach others not only the wisdom and knowledge of
God, but also the necessity of obtaining the self realization that would
enable them to understand the basis as well as the necessity of Universal
Brotherhood -- so as to become, in turn, its true nuclei. Isn't that the only way we
could eventually overcome the lower egos of all mankind that is the root cause
of all the separation that has led this world into its present state of
ignorant materialism and its pernicious effects on not only nature itself, but also
on the path of human evolution?
So, as long as we meditate on that knowledge HPB gave us, and keep it always
growing in mind while spread broadcasting its "message," it can never be
"dead" -- since it becomes the tools that empower us, individually and
collectively, to carry out the will of God or the First Cause. In this light, there's
much more to meditation (along with the learning and absorption of its
metaphysical truths and interpreting them in "the language of this age") than just the
overcoming of our own personal egos.
Best wishes,
Leon

But from a theosophical perspective, on this physical plane the ego is as
real as we are, and rather than escape from thinking about it, we have to
deal
with it.
In any event, it's not ego to expect people to be perfect, but ignorance of
the fact that such expectations cannot be fulfilled. Its egoistic,
however, to
think that one is perfect themselves.
