John, all,
well, my personal perspective is long standing due to what I conceive
as normal exposure and perception. When I developed interest in the
topic of Madame Blavatsky and the Theosophical Society back in the
1970s I began to accumulate books on the subject. One of the most
stimulating of contents were the "Group Photo's" taken at various places
such as the ones with Alice Cleather with the Theosophical Group
huddled together in chilly weather in Peking China and representing the
Peking lodge there. Scanning the individuals reveals a wide spectrum
of types and origins and of course perspective views held by each. In
many other works such as the collected writings there are many more
photographs that show what the magnetic attraction was and how
widely it encompassed so many idealogies, religious beliefs and other
philosophically held positions, yet there are congenially basking
in their mutual sunshine. When I used to scan the Books published by
Wheaton in their catalogue I noticed a very wide topical listing and it
featured works from member Theosophists and nonmember contributors.
Today is much the same as yesterday to me, if one sees the posts from
Brazil, India, Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Israel, USA, and other places
in the world one can see a from of synergy and multi-perspectives that
are presented., I often wonder if people ever take the time to really
read the names of the people in the old Group Photo's or even those in
the present. there is a form of dynamism that might be likened to the
eddies of the river, changing but still flowing, never the identical wave-
form and the flotsam on the surface varies but the life stream goes on.
Certainly there were many hundreds and thousands of Theosophists
during all this time who, being unnoticed in the limelight due to the
fact that they were in the shadow of those most prominent and who get
most all of the press validates the fact that there has been and is a
multi-
perspective present as a naturally occurring condition. Where can one
true Homogeneity when Unity in Diversity seems to be the natural effect?
What would be the form of an idealized homogeneity where there are
differentiation's that exasperate some?
John
