Does anyone know anything about this? There was a fellow who used to
tour this country teaching what he called "breatharianism" who was
ratted out by a fellow claiming to be his "cook." It was not clear
why someone who lived entirely on light, with no need for food or
water, needed a "cook," so some people got suspicious. Then there
was a story that he had been seen in a 7-11 store after one of his
lectures buying burritos and junk food and that he had left his hotel
room filled with discarded wrappers. This time it was the hotel
staff which had to clean up after him who ratted him out. Someone
seem to have bneen eating in that room. One of his disciples in
Pennsylvania starved to death and left a diary indicating that he
alternated between fasting and John Candy like pigout sessions. It
should be said that violently pigging out after fasting is dangerous
in itself and is common among people who claim to "live on light."

There is also a lady in Australia who claims to have lived on light
for years and to have a 21 day program for waning yourself from food
or water. One of her pupils died while implementing the program,
She did a seminar in this country and someone sold video tapes of
it "as is" (no returns allowed.) When I got the tapes I found out
why. You could see a blond talking behind a lectern but the sound
was so bad all I could hear was machine noise, a sort of growling
sound of unknown origin. It was like watching an Andy Warhol movir.
She claims to have eaten nothing for years but she looked well fed to
me. I have no idea whether her claims are true or not, but decided
it was too dangerous to attempt her 21 day program lest I end up like
the others who tried it and starved to death. Anyway, the object of
the exercise, assuming this is all on the level, is physical
immortality. If you stop eating you stop the netabolic provess, and
if you stop the metabolic progrss you stop the aging process, You
have to know HOW, though, mere fasting is not all there is to it.

Whether a yogi could live entirely on light or not is questionable
(assuming anyone can, which is also questionable). I found out
sitting in a monastery you can easily lose a lot of weight eating
three hearty meals a day just sitting and meditating. The brain
burns idiotic quantities of energy during intense mental exertion.
It is not necessary to be Jack Lalane or even to get up, except for
walking meditation.
