George MacDonald Frasier, in his FLASHMAN AND THE GREAT GAME, depicts a
scene where the Indian sepoys are told the story of the prodigal son,
with the Indian translation translated back to English by the
protagonist (anybody who has read the series knows better than to call
Flashman a "hero").
