Dear Friends,

Surely it is good to have a wide and deep perspective in matters of 
occultism. The farther back we can step from the particulars, the 
more able we are to catch a glimpse of the pattern of the vast mosaic 
that composes humanity and all it's causes and effects. While it is 
certainly true that karma is perfect, that whatever occurs has a 
cause and generates an effect, we get into trouble when we start 
saying that people who suffer deserved it. The Master says, "Learn to 
love the pain," and possibly, when we evolve to a level of 
consciousness in which we can embrace that maxim wholeheartedly, we 
will be more able to accept the thought of self-responsibility. In 
the meantime, the other side of the coin is that no matter whether 
the suffering of our brother or sister is earned or not (not really 
our concern, as our job is to accept responsibility for our own 
actions, not to pass judgement on others), the Law of Love extends to 
all humanity. Those who serve as the agents of a karma which deals 
out tremendous suffering to others are definitely piling up some of 
the same for themselves. We always have a choice. We can always 
choose love instead of hate.
