Mauri,
Yes, the "Garment" is a most stimulating term if indulged into. For
instance
when thinking of our personal Garments we have many and several types and
layers are worn at the same time. One can relate this to the scheme of
the
"7-fold Constitution and Economy of the Being" as outlined by Madame
Blavatsky.
In the Indian they are sometimes called "Koshas" or Shariya". In the
western
Christian Cruxifiction the Centurians divide the "Robe" of the Christ
amoungst
themselves as it was of very special significance. In the old Testament
there is a
of a son named Benjamin about how he traded his "Coat of Many Colors" for
a bowl of porriage. In the Ch'an Buddhist Tradition the Garment of the
Tripitaka
Master has 33 Partitons. Possibly the radient Halo's portrayed in
ancient works
communicate more than just Holiness but perhaps indicate the "Coat of
Many
Colors" of the assembly of the 7-fold being found of each of us.

I can also point to a very nice work bt G.R.S. Mead : The Hymn of the
Pearl"
if I remember rightly, it may be on the Gnossis website. Also a related
work of
interest I have titled: "The Flight to Lucifer-A GnosticFantasy" by
Harold Brown,
1979 which utilizes the Motif of the story of Jesus from the Hymn of the
Pearl
where Jesus while in Paradise is sent to retreive the Pearl and folds his
Robe
of Glory and leaves it in Paradise while he undrtakes the descent into
the
Mayavic creation adopting suitable garments in the descent of the many
planes
in order the fool the Archons and remain disguised and undiscovered.

Hope this helps a little,

John
