Hi Krishtar and all of you,

My views are:

Blavatsky said, that she didn't like to follow dead-letter Theosophy.
I agree.

Let us have a look at few of the profiles of today and the recent past.

1.
Geoffrey Hodson (d. 1983) a clairvoyant and former leader of "Director of
Studies of the School of the Wisdom" at Adyar.

Pictures of Devas by Geoffrey Hodson:

http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Olympus/3987/devas2.html

Some writes off Geoffrey Hodson - because of his clairvoyant views on the
death of Christ.
He has been reported to have made a series of sessions on - very ancient
archaeological findings - and scored 198 out of 200 - and telling more than
scienctists involved in the experiement knew. I looked as far as the report
goes - about 2 million years back in time.
The session took place in Africa - north of Johannesburg in 1960 - in the
Sterkfontein cave. The archaeologist was John T. Robinson and his friend
Margaret Donnelly. John T. Robinson worked at Transvaal Museum in Pretoria
for 17 years - and also together with Dr. Broom - who discovered the skull
"Mrs. Ples" in 1947.
Hodson possibly perhaps - his psychometric capeability at the sessions.

2.
Idries Shah (d. 1996)
Try also the books by Idries Shah ( i.e. King Enoch or King Thoth).
http://www.sufis.org/shah.html

Here are some excerpts. We sometimes substitute the word "Sufi" with
"Theosophy" etc.
Take for instance item E. on the issue Brainwashing:

A.
"Sufis believe that, expressed in one way,
humanity is evolving to a certain destiny. We are
all taking part in that evolution. Organs come
into being as a result of the need for specific
organs (Rumi). The human being's organism is
producing a new complex of organs in response to
such a need. In this age of the transcending of
time and space, the complex of organs is concerned
with the transcending of time and space. What
ordinary people regard as sporadic and occasional
bursts of telepathic or prophetic power are seen
by the Sufi as nothing less than the first
stirrings of these same organs. The difference
between all evolution up to date and the present
need for evolution is that for the past ten
thousand years or so we have been given the
possibility of a conscious evolution. So essential
is this more rarefied evolution that our future
depends upon it." ("The Sufis" p.50/54 - by Idries Shah)

B.
"In accordance with the local culture, the
audience and the requirements of the Teaching,
Sufis have traditionally made use of appropriate
selections from their unparalleled riches of
transmitted lore.
In Sufi circles, it is customary for students to
soak themselves in stories set for their study, so
that the internal dimensions may be unlocked by
the teaching master as and when the candidate is
judged ready for the experiences which they
bring."

-- From the Preface
(Tales of the Dervishes by Idries Shah: Octagon Press, London, p. 11.)

a)
"Only a very few Sufi tales, according to Halqavi (who is the
author of 'The Food of Paradise') can be read by anyone at
any time and still affect the 'Inner consciousness' con-
structively.
'Almost all others', he says, 'depend uipon where, when and
how they are studied. Thus most people will find in them
only what they expect to find: entertainment, puzzlement,
allegory.'
(Tales of the Dervishes by Idries Shah: Octagon Press, London, p. 20.)

b) --- A tale ---
WHEN the Waters were Changed
Once upon a time Khidr, the Teacher of Moses, called upon mankind
with a warning. At a certain date, he said, all the water in the
world which had not been specially hoarded, would disappear. It
would then be renewed, with a different water, which would drive
men mad.
Only one man listened to the meaning of this advice. He collected
water and went to a secure place where he stored it, and waited for
the water to change its character.
On the appointed date the streams stopped running, the wells
went dry, and the man who had listened, seeing this happening,
wnt to his retreat and drank his preserved water.
When he saw, from his security, the waterfalls again beginning to
flow, this man descended among the other sons of men. He found
that they were thinking and talking in an entirely different way
from before; yet they had no memory of what had happened, nor
of having been warned. When he tried to talk to them, he realized
that they thought he was mad, and they showed hostility or
compassion, not understanding.
At first he drank none of the new water, but went back to his
concealment, to draw on his supplies, every day. Finally, however,
he took the decision to drink the new water because he could not
the loneliness of living, behaving and thinking in a different
way from everyone else. He drank the new water, and became like
the rest. Then he forgot all about his own store of special water,
and his fellows began to look upon him as a madman who had
miraculously been restored to sanity.

---
Legend repeatedly links Dhun-Nun, the Egyptian (died 860),
reputed author of this tale, with at least one form of Freemasonry.
He is, in any case, the earliest figure in the history of
the Malamati Dervish Order, which has often been stated by
Western students to have striking similarities with the craft of
the Masons. Dhun-Nun, it is said, rediscovered the meaning
of the Pharaonic hieroglyphics.

(And we remember, that Blavatsky said that the Hieroglyphics was a later
sort of physical branch of Senzar -
The Mystery Language.)

C.
"According to the Sufis, human beings are
ordinarily cut off from Objective Reality,
which is the origin of everything. Human
faculties, although perceptive, are limited:
like a radio set which can receive only
certain electromagnetic waves...
The perceived world, again according to
this assertion, is therefore a distortion.
The inability to transcend the barrier of
limited senses explains human subjectivity..."
-- From the Introduction by Idries Shah
(The World of the Sufi edited by Peter Brent: Octagon Press, London, p. 1.)

D.
FIRST AMONG SUFIS
Life and Thought of Rabia al-Adawiyya
by Widad El Sakkakini
Introduction by Doris Lessing

Born in Basra in the 8th century of an impoverished family, orphaned and
sold into slavery, Rabia al-Adawiyya, rose to become one of the greatest
Sufi teachers.

"An extraordinary kaleidoscope of myth and reality,
of imagination and fact.... Is it not of
importance that a woman of such stature and
independence of mind existed so early in the story
of Islam, to show what women could be, and how
they could be regarded?"

-- From the Introduction by Doris Lessing

E.
Focus On September 11
To process the tragic events of September 11 and formulate a more conscious
and effective response, we need information from a variety of perspectives,
some of which are not being widely addressed by the current media coverage.
One aspect we need to be aware of is the process of brainwashing and
indoctrination happening on all sides of this crisis. The ISHK Book Service
is offering a set of key books about this subject at half the regular cost.
You can also purchase the books individually at the regular price. We hope
you will read these books yourself, recommend them to your friends, bring
them into your classrooms and book clubs, donate them to your local library.
With the right kind of information and understanding, and in the spirit of
learning, we can all help create the future we want for ourselves and for
our children.

How Could This Happen? Brainwashing, conditioning, and how the human mind
works
Ultimately, to eradicate terrorism and the conditions that spawn it, we must
understand the human mind-how it evolved, how it works to create the crises
we face, and what we can do to be more conscious in our response. For
example, what happens in the minds of ordinary, well-educated human beings
that they can carry out incomprehensible acts of terror in the name of a
political or religious cause? Is their "conversion"so far beyond the norm or
are the same influences at play in all our lives? What are the inherent
functions of the human brain that lead to dangerous stereotyping and hatred
on all sides? Scientific research of the past four decades illuminates many
aspects of the nature of both the human mind and the current human
predicament, and points the way to the changes needed. These three books
explore some of the important research.

SET OF THREE BOOKS: Battle for the Mind, The Manipulated Mind, and New World
New Mind

BATTLE FOR THE MIND
A Psychology of Conversion and Brain-Washing: How Evangelists,
Psychiatrists, Politicians and Medicine Men can change your beliefs and
behavior
By William Sargant

How can an evangelist convert a hardboiled sophisticate? Why does a POW sign
a "confession" that he knows is false? How is a criminal pressured into
admitting his guilt? Do the evangelist, the POW's captor, and the policeman
use similar methods to gain their ends?

These and other compelling questions are discussed in the definitive work by
William Sargant, who for many years until his death in 1988 was a leading
physician in psychological medicine. Sargant spells out and illustrates the
basic techniques used by evangelists, psychiatrists, and brain-washers to
disperse the patterns of belief and behavior already established in the
minds of their hearers, and to substitute new patterns for them.

"This mechanism holds the possibility of explaining and understanding much
of how people suddenly change direction in life, and some of the strangest
religious and spiritual behavior ever described among human beings....
Perhaps most important, understanding it can give us insight into the
formation of social bonds, the development of gangs and groups, and allow us
to make more informed choices as individuals; as a society; and as a
culture, how we want our own groups to develop."
-Charles Swencionis, Ph.D., Albert Einstein College of Medicine, from the
Foreward

Subject: Theos-World Masters still in the Planet ?

Hi everybody.

Morten ended his message with an interesting and intriguing quote:
............................................................................
.............
Do you think the Masters have left the Planet ?
............................................................................
.............

My question is :What else is in the writings on Theosophy about that?
Many are those at this moment who´s even written books on new communications
with the Masters, such as M, KH, DK, Hilarion, Serapis Bey, etc
In what form may we notice there is a more or less visible sign of their
presence in our earth?
A nice question for the inquirers.

Krishtar
