I'm Vera, from Curitiba. Regarding Besant/Leadbeater 's role in the 
Theosophical Society I suggest you read Mr. Geoffrey Farthing's 1966 
Manifesto and the 1997 Suplement to this Manifesto. I have a copy in 
portuguese of both I can send you off list if you are interested.

There is also the "Correspondência com Joy Mills - Uma Reflexão sobre 
Erros e Acertos na Literatura Teosófica" published by Carlos Cardoso 
Aveline through his Ação Teosófica last year that throws a pretty much 
clarifying light on this issue. If you don't have Aveline's address I 
can send it to you also.
