Thanks for your thoughts and the LIGHT they bring.

You write of RIGHT ACTION, which by its very nature co-exists with (among
others) RIGHT SPEECH, which is quite a different thing to "freedom of
speech." How are we to go about the far more interesting and testing
action of RIGHT SPEECH? "Freedom of speech" means you can be as pleasant or
as nasty as you like, but RIGHT SPEECH goes hand in hand with Universal
Brotherhood.

I just picked up a photocopy of "RULES which must be conformed to by all
Resident Members at the Headquarters of the THEOSOPHICAL SOCIETY in Europe."
After the SEVEN rules comes:

"Regularity in life consists of regularity in speech and action, and these
cannot exist apart from regularity in thought and feeling. In Practical
Theosophy, therefore, it is necessary that these five conditions should
co-exist: viz.

RIGHT THOUGHT RIGHT FEELING
RIGHT SPEECH RIGHT ACTION
RIGHT LIVING"

And RIGHT LIVING is in even larger capitals,

followed by the autograph signature "H P Blavatsky"

Do we really have the WILL to TURN our minds and hearts to these 5
conditions? Do we have it in us to become Theosophists?
