Dear Friends:

Re: Black and white Magic.

As far as my study of Theosophy goes I have noticed the
following:

The knowledge of posers and forces in nature. is the same.

The MOTIVE in applying makes the difference.

White Magic is always impersonal, universal and generous,
merciful and tender. No atom of selfishness is to be found n it.
It is always virtuous at all times and places. Its wisdom lies
in discrimination between the "Heart" and the "Eye" doctrine, and
their application.

Black magic Is identified by self-interest, and a carelessness
for the rights and privileges of others. It is always vicious in
some way. It may be most learned in the "eye' doctrine, but the
:Heart" doctrine escapes its understanding.

One of the principal differences: The White Magic considers all
beings as immortals and therefore applies brotherly criteria in
dealings with all beings. It considers all beings as "Living
eternal Forces." It therefore takes the longest possible range
view of its decisions and choices. It always views itself as "One
of many."

The Black Magic recognizes only the existence of the temporary
personal "self" which dies when the body dies. It is therefore
short sighted and selfish to the extreme. It considers the
present "form" as the sole object of any importance.

Consider: Technology is the magic of the 5th Root Race. If this
is true,
then what would black magic be? Perhaps this.
