For scientific minded theosophists (or scientifically religious philosophers
:-)
Here's an interesting modern view of Cosmogenesis that tries to explain in
simple analogies how the universe originates and evolves -- which is
supposedly consistent with modern science, including relativity, quantum and
Superstring/M(em)brane theories.

These ideas generally mesh with the ABC theory -- which uses a model (also
consistent with modern physics theories) that starts from the zero-point of
absolute (abstract) space-motion, and -- beginning with a fundamental non
polar neutrality (circular spin in opposite directions) -- upon initial
emanation, becomes polarized (spirally and spherically, like twin bubbles
within a surrounding bubble) and, thus, forms a dual, left-right symmetry and
up-down, back-front asymmetry.

(See this as the symbolic cross section of a spherical universe that expands
from a central primal zero-point-instant and fractally involves downward
along a vertical line of zero-point centers.)
However, this alternative "tree" theory avoids the zero-point altogether, and
begins with two "membranes" of opposite polarity for which there is no
reality... Since, they cannot be directly related to the fundamental
circular motion of primal force that, to maintain symmetry and conservation
of energy, must emanate spirally (and repetitively in triple cycles) out from
(and back to) each zero-point of Absolute Space... (Although, much of the
conclusions of this model, do relate to this fundamental cyclicality of
primal force that eventually becomes spherical fields of mass/energy in our
space-time continuum.)
To see how the "dark" matter fields relate to the "light" matter fields, and
emanate back to back from the same primal zero-point-instant spinergy or
"Cosmic singularity," go to:

(Fold the diagram along the horizontal center line to visualize how these two
aspects of fundamental matter can be coadunate, or interpenetrate each other,
and exist in the same place, while they involve, step down and increase in
physical energy and density and decrease in frequency and spiritual energy --
as the spherical fields get smaller and smaller and approach the bottom lines
of solid matter.)
This spherical involution is the basis of all cyclic phenomena and of the
harmonic electrical laws that govern the transfer of holographic information
from one coenergetic field to another (that must be "coadunate but not
consubstantial," as explained by theosophical metaphysics) and that relates
to and links consciousness with matter -- as two opposite aspects of a
fundamental unity... One (consciousness or spirit) "empty" of form, and the
other (matter or mass/energy) "full" of forms that follow the basic
symmetries and asymmetries of the "primal beginning" (or involved fractal,
triune monadic fields)... "As above, so below," as Hermes Trismagistus
pointed out long before Western science realized that "spin" is the
fundamental basis of all motion, mass and energy.
The problem, with respect to the above "tree incarnation" model, is trying to
explain the complexity of nonlinear fractal, spherical hyperspace fields
within fields within fields, etc., that are integrally, holographically and
coenergetically connected -- by starting cosmic cyclic evolution with
separate linear planes or membranes that have no logical origin... Rather
than, as ABC (and theosophical metaphysics) does -- beginning with the
fundamental unified simplicity of a spinning spherical point of infinite
potential coenergetics -- which relates directly to the infinitely complex
potentialities of physical forms that maintain a fundamental left-right
symmetry, along with up-down, and back-front asymmetry. Thus, such forms as
the human body, are conditioned directly by that symmetry and asymmetry. As
is our physical consciousness which sees and considers only what is right in
front of us, or under our feet.
This aspect of material nature has a fundamental relationship with the
fractal involution of the primal fields and their progressive three, five,
and seven fold spherical nature prior the breaking of symmetry. Due to what
science calls unexplained random "quantum fluctuations." But which, from a
theosophical standpoint, is more likely due, early on, to the interference's
caused by the opposing free will choices of individually separated primal
awareness related to particular involved monadic fields of consciousness --
i.e., separate "beings" with differing viewpoints of a triune 3-dimensional
spherical reality that is common to all of them.
That reality is only symmetrical in one dimension due to the nature of
nonlinear fractal involution along a linear time line (or string of
zero-point instants). Such involution is followed by morphogenetic
evolutionary processes that can be modified by random mutations, random
environmental changes, consciously directed (yet conflicting) will, and
survival of the fittest. In a deeper sense, there is no such thing as
"random"... Since, all actions are based on causative factors --e.g., what
appears to be chaotic has within it a fundamental order (e.g., the smeared
out ink drop in a spinning column of water that, when spin is reversed, is
restored to its original shape).
In addition, this "tree" model completely avoids the question of explaining
consciousness, or its aspect of awareness and will -- which the ABC theory
postulates are fundamental qualities of the stationary zero-point, itself...
That is outside of all metric space and time, yet integrally linked to them
by direct lines of spin energy (spinergy) which forms descending fractal
triadic (Monadic) and coenergetic polarized fields of consciousness that
surround each reflected neutral zero-point... Of which there can be an
infinite number (being dimensionless)... As, each finite universe emanates
and expands from the primal zero-point of infinite potential energy --
represented by infinite abstract "spin," or angular momentum, that can exist
in non dimensional and non frictional primal or Absolute space without any
prior cause. (But, then, if the zero-point-instant is the infinite
consciousness of Parabrahm, or unconditioned pre-cosmic reality, why wouldn't
its curiosity force it to look around in every direction to see where it is
and what surrounds it? :-) Thus, we might consider that the "absolute" is
relative and the "relative" is absolute.
Also, the "tree" model fails to explain how that ABC emanational expansion
into spherical fields within fields within fields (the surfaces of which are
in effect, "Membranes") relates to the chakras of the human body and its
seven fold hyperspace nature, as well as to the similar potential nature of
all apparently separate beings -- extending from the simplest quantum
particles to the most complex vegetable, animal, and human beings. (To one
who is "awake" to one's inner nature, such relationships are as simple as
a-b-c. :-)

Hope you enjoy thinking about all this, and seeing how it fits in with
theosophical metaphysics as explained thoroughly in the Secret Doctrine.:-)
