Dear Munise:

Re: UNITY or Separativeness ?

As separation is only apparent, and relates to the periods and
processes of the evolution of Consciousness through the lower planes
of materials and substance, the "duality that supervenes in the
contrast of Spirit and matter" might be found expressed (Some of the
references given below might seem appropriate) here: --

Now how can we make use of this information in our lives? And,
looking wider at the scene that our world-arena presents?

Our inquiries have been sharpened in certain directions by the
conflict now being waged in the Middle East. The question is not only
of the life or death of the body, or the invasion of another's country
by vastly superior armed forces -- but what of the consciousness
underlying all human life ?

I would say that one ought never to forget that the polar opposites,
(of "good" and "evil") or contrasts, are the subject of the ONE
CONSCIOUSNESS, which in man operates through the MIND as its director.
In such a case, the Mind is a tool under control of the "Master
Magician," the Real Man, the Buddhi-Manas and Atma -- the Higher Self.
This third factor (Mind) equilibrizes the other two (Spirit and
Matter). [This makes for every one of us, a triple immortal Monad --
the Human Divine Triadic Ego in evolution.] In a way the Lower Manas
is now made through our will, the actor, as well as the witness -- in
such cases of deliberate consideration and in determining the motive
for its actions and words.

In the BHAGAVAD GITA Krishna speaks in several places of the "gunas"
[-- the 3 great qualities of nature -- our Universe and ourselves --]
They are 1. SATTVA ( Spirit), 2. TAMAS (Matter), and, 3. RAJAS
(Activity, characterized by desire and will, the latter being the
potency of Law universal. Any two "Gunas" in combination, is balanced
by the contrast of the third. Krishna says they are Purity and
Universality (SATTVA), Forms and Selfish limitations (TAMAS) and Mind,
discrimination and ignorance (RAJAS). As an example, in our own
psychological nature we can see ( because of the impartiality of the
universal Spiritual Consciousness), that "Mind" is dual, depending on
which of the counterbalancing two (SATTVA and TAMAS) it is confronted
by.[Chapters XIV and XVII]

The Mind's perceptions are touched by the position assumed of: 1.
either selfishness and isolation of the Personality, or by 2. the
liberality and universality (a consciousness of universal and
impartial law for all) of the Immortal INDIVIDUALITY that inherently
resides in each of us, and gives us Life.

We are all merged, swimming (immersed might be a better word) in the
eternity of SPACE -- the SPIRITUAL BASE (representative in periods of
manifestation of the ABSOLUTENESS). So Brotherhood as a deliberate
and conscious perception resolves most of the conflicts that duality
might present to it to perceive, and which, at its level in the plane
of our world and nature, it gets so entangled in.

We need the insights of the VOICE OF THE SILENCE and of PATANJALI'S
YOGA SUTRAS to help us to disentangle for ourselves the very difficult
psychological riddles that our personality presents to us. It is one
of the ways to find our Truth, and we can only find that within our
minds -- through deep thought, and meditation on these subjects. True
meditation is always active and never passive.

Best wishes,

Dallas

Subject: On Separation

Dear

Have you ever distinguished people that seems as if aren't/will never
be
able to do anything that is right to you? I had the chance, and feel
thankful to them. For me it was one of the remarkable points where
frustration is replaced with tolerance.

"Everything in the Universe, throughout all its kingdoms, is
CONSCIOUS:
i.e., endowed with a consciousness of its own kind and on its own
plane of
perception." S D I p. 274

I need such quotes to be more like the kind when studying (with and
inside)
nature:

"The separation which exists between individuals, between worlds,
between
the different poles of the universe and of life, the mental and
physical
fantasy called space, is a nightmare of the human imagination. That
nightmares exist, and exist only to torment, every child knows; and
what we
need is the power of discrimination between the phantasmagoria of the
brain,
which concern ourselves only, and the phantasmagoria of daily life, in
which
others also are concerned. This rule applies also to the larger case.
It
concerns no one but ourselves that we live in a nightmare of unreal
horror,
and fancy ourselves alone in the universe and capable of independent
action,
so long as our associates are those only who are a part of the dream;
but
when we desire to speak with those who have tried the Golden Gates and
pushed them open, then it is very necessary -- in fact it is
essential -- to
discriminate, and not bring into our life the confusions of our sleep.
If we
do, we are reckoned as madmen, and fall back into the darkness where
there
is no friend but chaos. This chaos has followed every effort of man
that is
written in history; after civilization has flowered, the flower falls
and
dies, and winter and darkness destroy it. While man refuses to make
the
effort of discrimination which would enable him to distinguish between
the
shapes of night and the active figures of day, this must inevitably
happen."
