While we are discussing varous issues concerning Jewish life during the time of Christ, I can recommend an excellent book which I read recently, The Nazarene by Sholem Asch. It portrays excellently life in Israel amidst the pagan world, and the life of Jesus Christ, from a unique angle. It is a must read for any spiritual seeker. Etzion
