Re: War and motives? What this justifiable ?

Dear Friends:

If everyone of us are immortal spiritual souls, the killing of
the body delays but does not obliterate its continued existence.
Reincarnation takes care of that.

Karma also eventually adjusts the understanding of all concerned.
So eventually our universe heals itself and affords us the
opportunity to see how our errors are adjusted.

But one has to study THEOSOPHY well to secure an understanding of
these truths, laws and facts.

Our “society” is generally blind and deluded when it comes to
deciding our community moralities and rules of living.

But on close examination and the careful comparison of
jurisprudence all over the world, brings one to the conclusion
that every code tries to mirror the fundamental rules and laws of
the Universe.

It also holds each individual responsible for breaches in
personals discrimination, discretion and careful generous,
tolerant applications.

Is war and its motives and causes any different?

Men make political decisions and are man always omniscient? Who
eventually pays for errors? How soul a wise man proceed? Or is
there any excuse in the “blind following the blind?”

Best wishes,

Dallas

PS

Is it not curious how much energy is spent defending untenable
opinions and self-justification and much less on trying to find
out WHAT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO impersonally ?

Hi Reed,

You point to a profound moral dilemma, that has been the thorn in
humanity's side, perhaps forever. It seems, there may never be an
escape from "conflicting moral dilemma's" given the pervasive
duality's, of existence on the physical plane.

Once a society has determined an acceptable path of moral
behavior for themselves, they are obliged to create the means to
enforce it. These "means" will most often be in "conflict" with
the desired "morality". Policemen are issued guns to KILL the
KILLERS if necessary, all in the name of upholding the moral
integrity of the society. It seems that we cannot have laws or
rules of behavior without the means to enforce them. This
enforcement concept applies to all societies and transcends
national boundaries. The body of laws which are based on the
moral imperatives of a given society are immediately conflicted
with the creation of the means to enforce them. The perceived
threat to one's survival arouses our instinctual nature, at which
time the moral imperatives are not conflicted at all: FIGHT,
FLIGHT OR PERISH!

Until we are much further along in our collective evolutionary
development I do not see any escape from the karmic conundrums of
the path we must tread.

Best,

Louis
