Dear Etzion:
I think your Master is right, though we may use slightly different
terms.
Theosophy teaches the Universe is basically the UNITARY and
ALL-EMBRACING SPIRIT -- or ATMAN. Nothing is exempt from it. It
embraces ALL. It is the true and only ETERNAL. It is then, the
nameless DEITY, ITSELF.
The cyclic manifestation is made possible (under Karma) by the SPIRIT
dividing itself temporarily into the two contrasts of spirit and
matter.
This is called the MONAD in evolution. Spirit and matter are
inextricably intertwined. But actually it is a trinity, since the
MIND is also present as the intermediary. It is this mental
consciousness that undergoes progress and evolution.
The "intelligence " of the lower forms becomes, eventually, (after
being 'Lit up" an independent, free-willed MIND, and after much labor
to learn and to understand this "mystery," it transforms itself into
an independent BUDDHI. --or, rather BUDDHI-MANAS -- The WISDOM-LIT
MIND.
Matter in evolution at the highest level is called BUDDHI (Wisdom, or
Primordial Root-Matter). It is pure and also universal. It provides
SPIRIT with a vehicle Kosmically, and with innumerable "Monadic
vehicles" -- named the "evolving monads."
In each form of matter, (including the human form) there is resident
a "seed" of SPIRIT -- always united to all the rest and to the ONE
WHOLE. [ see S D II 167, 254-5, 246, ]
But duality CANNOT be a FORM, as it is limitless extension. It
requires a third PRESENCE: the MIND which can see both and their
inter-relations. thus a limited and illusionary form is temporarily
made to house the MIND that is evolving.
Yes it is a "drop-soul." But the drop soul, in this case the HIGHER
MIND, is in direct proximity to WISDOM and the UNIVERSAL SPIRIT. In
fact it is the representative of the ONE SPIRIT in manifestation and
is present, latent or potent, in each "form." It is a mystery
expressed as -- "separate, but not separate." The MIND can operate
on all planes, and as CONSCIOUSNESS, it serves to unite its
experiences (as memory) on all planes.
See if that reconciles
Best wishes,
Dallas

Dear Dallas,
I read your messages often, and I enjoy them very much.
I wanted to comment on point 2.:
2. Each human being is a MIND. The mind does not die when the
body dies. It reincarnates.
According to my Master, each human being HAS a mnd, which is the
conglomeration of past impressions, due to one's activity as an
individual
drop soul - atma. The mind continues to adhere to the individual till
all
his impressions are being annihilated due to one's spiritual
work/efforts,
and/ or due to the grace of a true Master. The drop soul is not a
mind, the
mind causes it to feel separate.
Best wishes, Etzion
