It actually works both ways. I happen to belong to that very ULT lodge to
which Barts's TS lodge has recommended attending for the HPB oriented
classes. At the same time, our bookstore is limited to books by HPB,
Judge & Crosbie. Someone attending our lodge made me aware of the Quest
Bookstore and the TS lodge as a means of broadening my perspective. The
various lodges draw different people. So that way they actually reach out
to a wider spectrum of the population than any single lodge could. But
the fact that lists such as this one and BN-study exist and are visited
and contributed to by memebrs of all three major organizations shows that
we more than co-exist and the differences today are not as great as some
would like to think. I like to think of these lists as soer of "grand
lodges" that encompass as or at least provide a place where the three
universes have a common touch point while still allowing the members or
associates of the various lodges to do their own thing within their own
organizations.

As to your other point about esoteric membership in the ULT vs what goes
on in the TS, personally I feel this way: I got a late start in this. If
I have twenty to thirty years left in this life (which may be pushing it)
I will have enough to do to more fully absorb what we have been given in
the SECRET DOCTRINE and elsewhere. So ULT and these lists do me well. 

As for a successor to HPB. To what end? We've been around the horn a few
times on this one, but we do know that a vol. II and IV to the SD were in
the offing but not released. In other words, the world (including
theosophists) wasn't ready for all that HPB had to offer. We still don't
have that. Why? Because we haven't made the best of what had been given
already. Until we do, why worry about an esoteric successor?
