I do not disagree with you about communism but someone is very confused here. The thread started out, not with communism, but with Mic's insistence that Americans are responsible for Indonesians seeking out and targeting Australians because of Afghanistan being invaded in response to the WTC bombing which was in turn a response to Zionist activity against the innocent and hapless Palestinians. He may be right, but his hypothesis is intrinsically less plausible than others I can think of, and we will only know for sure when there is further investigation. If I were an Australian I would prefer to tentatively accept the more plausible theory that it was an attack on tourists and not an attack on their specific nationality. If further investigation proved that hypothesis to be incorrect, I would then change my view of the thing. As for communists, my understanding is that the Muslims have a prioritized hate list in which communists are in the most hated slot. Hindus rank just below comunists on the list, being the second most vigorously hated people, followed in turn by Jews, then Christians, then converts to Islam who were born infidels, and lastly other Muslims. That the Islamists would be in cahoots with communists is about as plausible in my mind as the Bali bombing being carried out by space aliens. It is not impossible, but one would need some solid evidnence to make the theory acceptable. > Unfortunately for them, the holes in their theory are showing, because > in order for them to be against the West, they are now supporting an > entity which is a far greater oppressor than the West has ever been, and > even has a central philosophy of oppression against all who are not like > them, and many who are (this refers to so-called "radical" Islam, > although I have noticed that very few normal Islamic people have been > denouncing these groups). There is an article in PLAYBOY by the fellow who wrote INSIDE AL QAEDA. I have no idea whether or not he is right, and am simply referring to his opinion. He seems to think that although normal Muslims are peaceful and law abiding people, nonetheless, radical Islam is to them what Zionism is to Jews, namely, something which they feel they must support no matter how despicable it is. Anyway, you can read his writings and see if you find his observations plausible.
