Dear Jerry.
I send you a somewhat lengthy report -- see what you make of
it.

I think it serves to answer in part some of your
observations.

Subject: Dallas - Karma
<<<As individual immortals we always carry with us our
burden of Karma
(effects to be reaped or experienced), good or bad.>>>
Quite a statement Dallas. It assumes at least four things.
That:
1. We are individual immortals (ie eternal sepearate selves)
YES
2. We carry with us a karmic burden YES
3. Karma has to do with good and evil LAW UNIVERSAL PRO or
CON
4. Karma is a system of rewards and punishments No but
IMPARTIAL
IMO: The first two assumptions are true conditionally or
relatively but are
not true ultimately. The last two assumptions have no
validity at all and are
pure human conceptualizations (they also result in needless
guilt as well as
feelings of either deflated egotism or inflated egotism both
of which propel
the mental continuum into future lives).
=======================
DTB GUILT implies a pre-knowledge of Law as to how to behave
and control ones actions.
Can we discover if the Universe runs by LAW or not ? (Not
whether we like it or not)
=================
Thus I would reject the entire sentence as being steeped in
mayavic
assumptions and also for making no allowances for liberation
(ie golden chains
are just as binding as iron chains and liberation is freedom
from both).
======================
DTB MAYAVIC ASSUMPTIONS imply that there are at least two
views
1. the fact (truth) and
2. ignorance and illusion (or delusions).
It takes one who knows to see the difference.
But it also implies that the ultimate TRUTH exists, against
which a multitude of FALSE VIEWS are on the attack. Who and
How are those generated? What is their purpose ? Do they
help in true perception, or do they confuse. Are they
attuned to our pre-conceptions? Do they prevent us from
getting at a more universal view ?
What actuates them unless it is a personal position based on
selfish desire that does it.
We have to start somewhere? Are we always right ? Why are
there other views?
2. LIBERATION of what from what ? Where does the
"Liberated" go? for how long? why?
Is there any activity or final result from this "vacation?"
Is it truly and ultimately BENEFICIAL ?
Agreed that earth life such as we know it is a burden and
confusing, but then how do we secure something that is truly
changeless and therefore "eternal" in an impersonal and
universal sense -- something we all share in, and need not
be "forced" to see or to agree to ?
I am always cautious when a single person says: "this is
true." I would rather have a dissertation on how to acquire
knowledge, and how to test for TRUTH. Then I feel freer in
using and testing that way. I hold that none of us can
express the whole truth, but each of us has experiences that
have lead us to a perception of at least the "foot-hills" of
the MOUNTAIN OF ETERNAL TRUTH.
If you can find elsewhere a philosophy as all-inclusive, and
integrated, and cohesive as Theosophy I would very much like
to hear of it.
=============================
I find the sentence extremely interesting in light of the
fact that maya can
be defined as our belief in being a separate self, eternal
or otherwise, and
the existence of our karma and "karmic burden" depends on
our acceptance of
maya as so defined (and therefore karma is conditional and
not inherent).
========================
DTB "BELIEF" is always uncertain. It is mixed up with the
concept of "I don't know for sure, but I hope that there
will be some pleasant reward or -- a "hope".
If one desires to take another's views (even the Buddha's )
as guide then we place our reliance not on what the BUDDHA
actually said (as reported in words), but on OUR
INTERPRETATION of that. We could be wrong, but, how to
check that for greater accuracy? There has to be an
impersonal and universal base somewhere. Something that any
one can use.
==================================
Bottom Line: Anyone who believes/accepts Dallas' sentence
will remain in maya
and will suffer karmically just so long as that belief
lasts. Enlightenment
and liberation depend on seeing through the mayavic belief
in a self, and thus
in seeing through the false assumptions behind the sentence.
=================================
DTB You misunderstand me: I say that we are all inherently
free to pursue any line of study or inquiry. What makes us
free? We like everything else bathe in the INFINITE ALL --
THE ONLY ONE TRUTH.
Our individuality and separateness is an attempt of this ONE
CONSCIOUSNESS to learn more about ITSELF through our work,
thought, experiences, etc...
In the process we develop our individual capacity to
perceive it and its EXISTENCE, whether in manifestation or
our of manifestation. Of course these are many "personal"
mental concepts that we have developed, as we think of, an
review (as memory) our life's progress.
But in addition to these we have evidence of the "root"
metaphysical concepts (only provable by logic and
intuition --and only provable to ourselves), but still,
whether they are true or false, they indicate they have a
validity, as questions, and / or explanations.
As far as I can see, there are no dead-ends -- to progress;
and one life is hopelessly inadequate to secure a complete
knowledge of everything, and how, and why it works that way.
But have a look at the attached article (below).

Have a nice day,

> LESSONS HE LEARNED
>
>
> The mystery of life has very little to do with
intelligence.
> The universe is not an intellectual process at all. The
> intellect is helpful; it is brilliant, but right now that
is
> all we process with, instead of our hearts and the wiser
> part of ourselves.
>
> The center of the earth is this great transmuter of
energy,
> just as you see in pictures of our earth's magnetic field.
> That's our cycle, pulling reincarnated souls back in and
> through it again. A sign that you are reaching human
level
> is that you are beginning to evolve an individual
> consciousness.
> The animals have a group soul, and they reincarnate in
group
> souls. A deer is pretty much going to be a deer forever.
> But just being born a human, whether deformed or genius,
> shows that you are on the path to developing an individual
> consciousness. That is in itself part of the group
> consciousness called humanity.
>
> I saw that races are personality clusters. Nations like
> France, Germany and China each have their own personality.
> Cities have personalities, their local group souls that
> attract certain people. Families have group souls.
> Individual identity is evolving like branches of a
fractal;
> the group soul explores in our individuality. The
different
> questions that each of us has are very, very important.
> This is how Godhead is exploring God's Self - through you.
> So ask your questions, do your searching. You will find
> your Self and you will find God in that Self, because it
is
> only the Self.
>
> More than that, I began to see that each one of us humans
> are soul mates. We are part of the same soul fractaling
out
> in many creative directions, but still the same. Now I
look
> at every human being that I ever see, and I see a soul
mate,
> my soul mate, the one I have always been looking for.
> Beyond that, the greatest soul mate that you will ever
have
> is yourself.
>
> We are each both male and female. We experience this in
the
> womb and we experience this in reincarnation states. If
you
> are looking for that ultimate soul mate outside of
yourself,
> you may never find it; it is not there. Just as God is
not
> "there".
>
> God is here. Don't look "out there" for God. Look here
for
> God. Look through your Self. Start having the greatest
> love affair you ever had ... with your Self. You will
love
> everything out of that.
> I had a descent into what you might call Hell, and it was
> very surprising. I did not see Satan or evil. My descent
> into Hell was a descent into each person's customized
human

> after what seemed an eternity, I started calling out to
that
> Light, like a child calling to a parent for help.
>
> Then the Light opened up and formed a tunnel that came
right
> to me and insulated me from all that fear and pain. That
is
> what Hell really is. So what we are doing is learning to
> hold hands, to come together. The doors of Hell are open
> now. We are going to link up, hold hands, and walk out of
> Hell together.
> The Light came to me and turned into a huge golden angel.
I
> said, "Are you the angel of death?" It expressed to me
that
> it was my oversoul, my Higher Self matrix, a super-ancient
> part of ourselves. Then I was taken to the Light.
>
> Soon our science will quantify spirit. Isn't that going
to

> sensitive to subtle energy or spirit energy. Physicists
use

>
> With atomic colliders they are not only seeing what is in

>
> Since my return I have experienced the Light

> Light being there is. The body is a universe of

> Light.
>
> Spirit is not pushing us to dissolve this body. That is
not
> what is happening. Stop trying to become God; God is
> becoming you. Here.
>
> The mind is like a child running around the universe,
> demanding this and thinking it created the world. But I
ask
> the mind: "What did your mother have to do with this?"
>
> That is the next level of spiritual awareness. Oh! my
> mother!
