Eldon,
This is becoming very symbolic and esoteric!!! Maybe we don't
have any parents driving ! Maybe WE ARE DRIVING :-) Now wouldn't that be
terrible, if we actually had to make the decisions when to stop, when to
go, whether to soil ourselves or not?
Part of the process of growing up is our
becoming more aware of the things that are
being done for us and learning to do them
ourselves. Early on, we learn to feed and
dress ourselves. Later, we learn job and
social skills and carve out a place in the
world.

There's probably whole large areas of
life that we remain unaware of, since
they run instinctively, on auto-pilot,
in the background. With increasing
sentience, self-consciousness, and ability
to be aware, judge, and decide we master
new areas of life.

When little, someone else always drives us
around. Then we learn how to drive and if
we don't kill ourselves in the first year or
two, we'll do fine on the roads.

When adrift in life, finding a spiritual
practice and perhaps some form of training,
we have a whole different side of life to
go from an unconscious or passive state to
one of consciousness and self-direction.

I suspect many types of awareness that we
don't even have names for, nor any idea
whatsoever what they are about. That is,
many types of understanding, seeing, and
appreciating life as varied as our known
senses and faculties of consciousness.

Perhaps 50,000 years from now, there
might be words for some of them, and
some people may experience what they
represent.

Just because we haven't thought of them
yet doesn't mean there aren't such. It just
means they aren't in the narrowly drawn
circle we draw around ourselves when we
say, "This is what exists and what life
consists of."

Are we all on line at the same time?
Perhaps. Although sometimes I may wonder,
seeing what is sometimes said, if we're even on
the same planet!
