Maybe the book "The Conscious Universe" by D. Radin 1998, would help someone to understand where USA are today - when we talk parapsychology.
If my memory is correct - the US government group on parapsychology - has given a goahead - as much as at least eight times ! - to invest funding in Parapsychology. There are simply to many facts proving ESP - the conclusion is that there most likely is something to parapsychology - than not.
Can that be confirmed ?

So the US of A seems to believe in parapsychology.
As far as I remember HPB was kind of against - ESP sensory worship - and spirits knocking under the tables.

She wanted the science of Gupta Vidya to be learned and taught.
