Daniel writes:
So it would appear that "hatefulness" is apparently in the eye of the
beholder.

Frank:
Well said. Some years ago I visited a local Adyar Lodge. I told them (with
my youngster openness) that I like to read HPB's SD & IU. Pray hell, were
they outraged! I was told by the lodge President that I should better don't
read HPB, because she wrote so hateful against the priests, the church and
the scientists and that we of today know much better!

William Q. Judge was known for his careful, mystical style of writing. HPB
called his articles "real buddhi". Nevertheless one reader once wrote a
protest letter, demanding for discontinuation of her subscription because
Judge has such an aggressive style of writing.
