Dear Steve, Katinka and Friends:

As I see it the question is (regardless of Kant, who approached
thinking from the limits of material experience alone)

Can we thin of anything, or consider any proposition if we are
not already in some way linked to is ?

Of we speak of SPIRIT, ATMA, PARABRAHM, MULAPRAKRITI,
PRIMORDIAL SUBSTANCE, SUDDHA-SATTWA, etc... ) whether we are
trying to set parameters to the Spirit (manifest or non-manifest)
and its many components -- IT being universal -- we can only do
so because inherently within US there is a portion of the same.

Theosophy posits that Man is a miniature of the KOSMIC-MAN --
hence ever component from the ABSOLUTE on down to the grossest
matter is there.

The Potency of man's power to will and to think is limited only
by his present knowledge as filtered through his present
consciousness -- present in the tools he imagines he possesses
and is able to use.

If we visualize our limits as only being material we so limit
them. And yet we can respond to te question: WHY and HOW are
those limits set? ARE THEY ABSOLUTE ? Are they partial, and if
so, what other divisions, planes, limits or capabilities are
within OUR reach. finally: Who are WE who can contemplate
using these powers physically as well as metaphysically? What
are the planes denominated in Theosophy:
astral,
ethereal,
pranic,
kamic,
manasic,
Buddhic,
ABSOLUTE ?

[ see S D I 157, S D II 596 ]

PS In other words if we can conceive of it, we have faculties
that are able to operate there.

The "WE" may be said to pierce up an down the several planes of
being and serves to unite the memory of the experiences (and
thoughts) on all those planes. Might we not say: in us is
omnipotent as WILL, if we are able to harness this through
impersonality and necessity.

Hi, Katinka:

Space and time are products of consciousness, as Kant
demonstrated. If atma is unconscious, then it is
outside space and time, without any division in the
eseential unity of things.
