David:
The only historic book I recall by Tillett is the biography
of Leadbeater. I went to Amazon.com and notice that they
say it's out of print, but can be ordered as a used book.
I also went to the Point Loma Publications site, and see it
on their catalog:
http://www.wisdomtraditions.com/PLPCatFr.html
The description they give is:
History
THE ELDER BROTHER
A Biography Of Charles Webster Leadbeater
Gregory Tillett
Is he world's greatest occultist and psychic? Or >the worst sort of
charlatan and con-man? These >widely ranging views of Charles Leadbeater
were >current in his lifetime and even now, years >after his death in 1934,
he remains a >controversial figure. His disciples hailed him >as the
greatest seer of their age; his enemies >attacked him as a fraud or worse.
But as Gregory >Tillett shows in this biography of Leadbeater, >he has
exerted great influence on modern ideas >about the occult. Supported by
archival >reference and extensive bibliography, this book >makes a lucid
statement of historical facts, >neither pro nor con, on a controversial
figure >in the Theosophical Society.

I would like to purchase a copy of Dr. Tillett's biography. I tried
Amazon.com and couldn't find it under the author Dr. Gregory Tillett. could
someone tell me how to obtain a copy? After reading for the last month on
the official positions of various theosophy groups I am very interested in a
skeptic's position. The truth may lie somewhere in the middle.
