And an organization which is confident in its own tenets would
encourage use of the Internet. On the other hand, I would not be
surprised if, in the near future, there are courses on how to separate
the "wheat" from the "chaff", so to speak, on the Internet.

I agree. Any organization whose foundations are on solid grounds and whose practices are open and transparent (what you see is what you get) need not be afraid of Internet or any other communication tool.

Any help the public can get to sort out the wheat from the chaff will help. Above all, I think it is the responsibility of the user of info to make diligent inquiries and even use intuition to validate the info. Of course most organizations like conformity and blind following as it is easy to manage such a crowd as Independent thinkers are difficult to "manage" and are unpredictable.
