Theosophical Lecture available for download (audio file)

I'm sending this message again, because of a bug with the yahoo
groups interface, that wraps lines with a "-" in them, even if
it's in a URL. That caused two of the URL's that I gave to not
work. I uploaded again the lecture with filenames that don't
contain a "-" in their names, and hopefully this message will
work where the last one doesn't.

---- previous message:

A new theosophical talk is now available in the
mahat@yahoogroups.com archives. See

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mahat

for more information on the list.

"The Wisdom Tradition as a Philosophy of Life" was given
by Wesley Amerman January 19, 2001 at the Long Beach Branch
of The Theosophical Society [Adyar]. Amerman is a Lecturer
for the United Lodge of Theosophists who was invited to
speak to the lodge.

The 48 minute talk is in the archives in mp3 format, and
can be downloaded for offline listening:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mahat/files/audio/amerman/wesa16.mp3
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mahat/files/audio/amerman/wesb16.mp3

These files were encoded at 16 kbps using variable bitrate encoding.
That allowed for small files with much higher quality sound. Most,
but not all, windows programs can play the mp3 files. What I've found
is that:

windows media player -- problems with playtime, stuttering
realjukebox -- stuttering, weak sound
realplayer -- plays fine
winamp -- plays much better than any of the others

If you are running under Windows and don't have winamp, I'd suggest
getting it. (It's free.)

The talk can also be listened to via a realaudio server at the
mahat.com experimental server at:

http://www.mahat.com/talks/wes.ram

I mention "experimental" since this server is not always up, but does
have the bandwidth to allow three or four people to listen to the
lecture at a time.
