But there is no freedom without discipline and organization. There can be
no harmony without conflict; no purity without defilement.

This morning I was reading Garma Chang on the train. Later. . . . waiting
for connecting bus. Across the road. . . . Los Angeles County Prison.
Freedom, I thought. . . . freedom.
