Dear Katinka
HPB as you rightly say describes those symbols in various places
but does not seem to have brought them all into one. Judge has
several articles in which he brings those together
AUM Path, Vol. I, p. 1 (ULT Judge articles, I p. 559
See also FIVE YEARS OF THEOSOPHY p. 345 (2nd Edn.
ISIS II 31, 343, 387; T. Glos p. 44
A COMMENTARY ON THE GAYATRI Path, Jan. 1893 (ULT Judge Art. I
583)
THEOSOPHICAL SYMBOLISM Path May 1886 (ULT Judge Art. I 586)
See also MODERN PANARION, p 401
THEOSOPHICAL SYMBOLS Path, April 1892 (ULT Judge Art. I 592)
See also HPB's SEAL Path, Feb. 1893
Hope this might help.

Subject: theosophical seal/symbol
Hi all,
On the dutch e-maillist it was asked why the Theosophical SOciety
Adyar
has a different seal (including the aum) than some of the other
theosophical societies. Does anybody know the history of this
symbol and
know when the aum was added to it? In 1885 Judge writes an
article on it
in which the aum is not included in the seal, so I suppose that
back then
it was not in there.
Further question: has Blavatsky written any article or piece
explaining
the whole thing as a whole? She has written on different of the
symbols
seperately (like the snake and the seal of Solomon), but is there
any
article on the whole thing put together?
Hope somebody knows more about this.
katinka
