Re: Theos-World On the Coming of maitreya

Hi Chuck,

It seems to me as though, perhaps, I have not been clear in explaining.

>Consider this. If the Maitreya (and I've
>been biting my cheek over this
>one!) is the second coming of Christ
>(not including the many times involving
>Mary Magdelene, three apostles and several
>local goats) he would not be
>someone we would want to remain around.

First of all, Maitreya is His personal name, much like "Todd" or "Chuck".
He holds the "Office" of the Christ which, as you are well aware, is the
seat at the Head of the Hierarchy. Along with the Manu and the Mahachohan,
these three represent, among other things, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Rays. The
problem for us here is that the Christians have adopted the Christ as
"their boy". That is, the Christ is seen by the Christians as the divine
representative for their religion alone. Little do they know, from the
esoteric point of view, that the Christ is the Eldest brother of all
Humanity, not only Christians. The return of Maitreya and Hierarchy to the
outer world is an event much broader in scope than what the Christians may
think it. All major religions expect a return of their "Awaited One" at
this time and as the Head of the Hierarchy, Maitreya represents that "One"
for each of the religions. However, He doesn't come to specifically endorse
any religion, nor to start a new. He brings the new dispensation for
Humanity at this time - the end of the age of Pisces. The Buddha
demonstrated Wisdom, and the Christ (2000 years ago) demonstrated
Love/Wisdom in combination. This anchored in the expression of the 2nd Ray
in a higher form through humanity for the first time. At this time (the
beginning of the Aquarian age) Maitreya, the World Teacher, will
demonstrate the Principle of Divine Will. This will demonstrate much along
the line of group work, synthesis, brotherhood, sharing, etc. The 1st Ray
always tends to unity and synthesis, although we can see its destructive
effects at work in this century as the old regimes and way of thinking
begin to crumble.

>Just think of all the bloodshed Xtianity is
>responsible for, then add nuclear warheads.

What we are talking about here has really nothing to do with Christianity.
This is the externalization of the Hierarchy representing a definite stage
of synthesis with Humanity. The two are coming closer in contact and so
this must reflect itself on all planes including the physical. In fact,
many of the fundamentalist Christian groups will definitely reject Him. He
simply doesn't fit into their crystallized thoguht-form of the Christ.

>Frankly I find the idea that humanity somehow
>needs a divine figurehead to descend from the clouds,
>do a few magic tricks called miracles and spew holy
>nonsense in order to set the world to right an insult
>against the human spirit and an excuse to impose yet
>another tyranny on a world that has grown sick of them.

What cynicism!! You are clearly spiteful towards the "Christian" version
of things to be but, again, that has nothing to do with what we are talking
about here. You are speaking of the Hierarchy (and its divine
figureheads?) as though they were distinctly separate and distant from
humanity. On the contrary, it is one existence and the "Kingdom of Heaven"
is around us and in us at all times. This is surely a basic principle in
esoteric philosophy. Many members of the human kingdom already have a foot
in both kingdoms - aware of themselves as Personalities *and* as Souls. We
have already been fusing with the Hierarchy for centuries now and the
externalization is only a natural (karmic) consequence of that. This event
has nothing to do with the historical expression of the Christian church.
As a matter of fact, I would venture to guess that it is the militant wing
of the Christian church which will be the most violently opposed to the
externalization of Maitreya and the Hierarchy.
As to your comment on whether humanity "needs" another
figurehead...well....you only need to turn on the news for a few minutes to
see that there are literally hundreds of millions of people at any moment
in time who are calling out for help from some divine source in one form or
another. Humanity is suffering sorely at this time where close to 30,000
people die every day in the world from poverty and malnutrition. That is
equivalent to a Hiroshima sized disaster every three days. What I would
suggest is that the world needs less selfishness, self-centeredness,
dictatorships, etc..... Maitreya says that He has come in response to
humanity's cry for help, and that He comes to restore Justice, Sharing and
Brotherhood. Of course, there will be many who will try to make him into a
figurehead - humanity is infamous for that. :-) But He has made it known
that He is not going to "wave a wand and fix things for us". We've made
the mess, so we need to restore our civilization as it collapses under the
weight of its own injustices. Instead, He brings the blueprint for reform,
the way forward out of our predicament.

>If I thought for one minute that this Maitreya
>fellow really existed and was not a creation of
>the fevered imagination of Benjamin Creme I would fire up
>the tepaphone and see how divine he really is.

To what end???? What would you say or do on the telephone that you suppose
would give you the needed proof or not of Maitreya's existence??

Another interesting point to consider is that most new age "channellers"
have followers who have read a certain amount, or broad amount, of new age
books, concepts, etc. However, very few individuals, *who have
legitimately studied AAB and HPB for many years* are rarely "taken in" by
channellers. On the contrary, almost all the individuals that I know who
work alongside Benjamin Creme have applied themselves for many years to the
esoteric philosophy of AAB and HPB. They are some of the most well read
esotericists, in fact, that I have ever met. I would say the odds of
having an entire network of *esotericists* involved in this lends to its
credibility. This is something to consider in its own right.
