Hi John:

Yes, all 6 volumes of the Old Diary Leaves are listed in the Year 2000
issue of the catalog of the QUEST BOOKS bookshop in Wheaton.

As you may know, after HPB died, there was a quarrel between Mr. Judge, and
the surviving Founder of the TS, Mr. Olcott. Mr Judge was the head of an
American section of the original TS, and his followers suddenly found
themselves parted from the original organization, that had headquarters in
ADYAR. Another American section was formed, which now is THE THEOSOPHICAL
SOCIETY IN AMERICA, with headquarters in Wheaton Ill., a division of the
original World Wide Theosophical Society.

This TS society also has a publishing house in Wheaton, and its book
division is called QUEST BOOKS. There are also Quest Book stores in New
York, and Los Angeles (Hollywood) that sell Theosophical books, so there may
be a Quest Book store in your area.

I get my TS Wheaton books by mail order from Wheaton. You can write them at
QUEST BOOKS, Theosophical Publishing House, P.O. Box 270, Wheaton, IL
60189-0270.

You can view their catalog On-Line (and order if you like) at
www.theosophical.org, or send email to olcott@theosophia.org - like if you
want to ask for a catalog. Their latest catalog is around 30 pages in large
format.

The ISBN number for Old Diary Leaves is:
    Vol. 1 0-8356-7106-2
    Vol. 2 0-8356-7123-2
    Vol. 3 0-8356-7480-0
    Vol. 4 0-8356-7484-3
    Vol. 5 0-8356-7487-8
    Vol. 6 0-8356-7491-6

Each of them is cloth, at US $9.50 plus postage.

All these competing Theosophical Publishing Houses are quite confusing at
first.

The one in Pasadena puts out much better made books than ADYAR does, in my
opinion. Our American section publishes the Blavatsky Collected Works, and
these are well made books. The problem is that in many cases they don't
sell the same books.

The Wheaton organization do not sell many of the books that mention Mr.
Judge too often, with the exception of Old Diary Leaves.

The Pasadena, Theosophical University Press makes excellent books, but don't
much approve of any book that gives any credit in any way to Mr. Olcott.

The impression that I get of the ULT of Los Angeles is that they wish to
concentrate on the original writings of HPB, and I am not certain whether
they approve of the leaders of the Pasadena TS beyond Mr. Judge, and they
CERTAINLY don't approve of Mr. Olcott.

I have heard that there is some other Theosophical Society somewhere in
America, but it is still a mystery to me.

In any case, each of the three TSs that I know of have web sites, and their
own publishing houses, and sell books, sometimes the same book in their own
edition. The TS in Wheaton is the only one that sells the Old Diary Leaves,
as far as I can tell.

It is worth while to get their catalog, and the catalog of the TUPress in
Pasadena.

Dennis
