Thanks for your "take" on this Dallas. My only point was that a life steeped
in a mundane materialism, does not necessarily translate to the loss of one's
soul. Even using your example above, it is hard to imagine a whole lifetime
spent without ANY redeeming qualities whatsoever. It is almost impossible for
me to imagine the innocence of youth distorted in such a way that spiritual
ideals or aspirations have been completely abandoned. And If that did happen,
I would suggest it is a personality defect to be corrected by karma and not
the loss of ones soul
The loss of ones spiritual identity as outlined by Eldon, seems to be the
outcome of some very special and rare exceptions. It is not the common human
experience.
In my opinion, materialism itself is simply another mechanism to be found on
the physical plane which is intended to test the human personality and its
potential for enlightenment. Have we lost our ability to envision a physical
dimension pervaded by ENLIGHTENED materialism?
