The acceleration evident by the statistics reflect compounding, or 
logarithmic growth of technology,  and a new age(information).  These are 
physical events primarily driven by entrepreneurship.  I don't see that it 
has anything to do with transformation or evolution of humans.  That is not 
to say the free flow of information may not catalyze something really 
spectacular.  If the masses are fully informed, the ruling classes are going 
to find it a tough go to buffalo the plebians into the idiocy of days gone by.
