I truly believe we should study spiritual classics EVERY DAY, but not from a
Theosophical perspective. We must read them in their own right, try to
penetrate sometimes very difficult wordings and allusions, APPLY. Only then
can we fairly compare them to our own body of "revealed" teachings.
Bravo Rich!
The great spiritual classics such as the Bhagavad Gita, the Teo Te Ching,
the Buddhist Wisdom literature Sarangama Sutra, Upanishads, etc. ARE our
revealed scriptures! We approach them as you say on their own merits with
humility and self-effacement... They are the Ancient Wisdom... As
theosophists we recognise them as our scripture... revealed at different
times to different people, they contain the same truths and the same
message...this is the basis for the universal theosophic brotherhood and
sisterhood... - Art Gregory
