RE: Theos-World things seem hopeless

Dear Clint McRae:

I have been thinking over your query, observations and subsequent
exchanges. There is no question that much in our world is pretty
bad from the point of view of hypocrisy and selfishness.
However, consider that we would not be able to know that unless
we had the contrast of the opposite virtues, Like HONESTY, and
GENEROSITY.

I think the real problem (with us in the middle doing the
considering) is to find out how these pairs of "opposites" arise,
what is their power over our feelings, and what are our real
reactions to them when the arrive in front of us or when we,
using our memories review them.

As I suggested earlier, the fist thing is to make sure that you
know what tools you have and your own ability to use them. Then
you can go forward with a foundation of which you are certain.
any adventure begins from the time you decide to go on it. But
the actual physical steps will only manifest after a good deal of
thinking and consideration. It is the invisible inner process
that is important I think.

Jerome, a good friend of mine, to whom I showed your query asked
if I could forward a note from him to you to consider.

Here it is.

Dear Clint--

Sure we're hopeless, we're all hopeless if you grab us by our
"Achilles Heel"!

But just as you can't make away with the horrors of the planet,
it is likewise true that you can't make away with the immortal,
the creative, the beautiful.

Handsome is who handsome does, and adventures are always waiting
for the "adventurous" whether they take the upward way or that of
the "Dread Dugpa Clan."

Lower subject & verb thinking can prove nothing in the long run.
It can only put to use the inner life of the person who, becomes
and reflects what he thinks. But he can choose those things he
will ATTEND TO--- Will and attention are kissing cousins, the
latter being the handmaid and ACCOMPLISHER that drives into
reality that which is attended to. Love is the key. Nobody
escapes having a love affair on this planet, for in the end it is
our LOVE that rivets the attention and makes the show go.

The BIG problem for you and I and all of us is: "How do we fall
in love with our ideals rather than our appetites?" It can be
done, history proves it. Human heroes leave indelible footprints
on this planet. If 95% of the people manage to stretch out their
days in the lap of the insipid and the mediocre, that says
NOTHING about the other 5%! Join the show and give the gods a
"run for their money"!

Just as the "horrors of the forest movie" had its effect on your
life, so too the hero in man might wake up your "heart," and once
that happens, who's knows where the limit is???

bye,
Jerome
