			Re: Probing and Proving Theosophy.

As I understand it,

Theosophy is NOT a "belief" system to be taken on "Faith."

It has been repeatedly called an historical and factual report on
the evolution of our World and the Universe in all those details
as reported from all departments, of such cooperative growth and
development over many millions and billions of years.

This implies that the Spirit of the Universe and the Spirit of
man are of the same nature and both are immortal. It also
implies that the Universe keeps its own records of all that has
occurred, and these are accessible to Those who have the
knowledge to do so.

Periodically the Universe, suns, Planets, Humanities roll out and
interact, and periodically they go to sleep through a process of
rolling back into the ONE FUNDAMENTAL AND INSCRUTABLE BACKGROUND,
which for convenience has been called the ABSOLUTE. It cannot be
scrutinized by our present minds.

In reply to Louis as to whether we ought to question and closely
examine the statements made for Theosophy by HPB. The answer
encouraged and repeatedly underscored by her is YES.

She said from the very beginning that the Occult Science and the
Secret Doctrine had to stand on their own feet and would invite
and encourage the most stringent cross examination and
investigation.

Subject: Theos-World Questioning our own beliefs

In the most recent edition of "theosophy world", Wesley Amerman,
makes the
following conclusion in his article entitiled, Theosophy and
Belief: << One
solution perhaps is to examine our most cherished fundamental
assumptions about the world, and then be willing to make
application to our own situations, painful though that process
may be. Theosophical principles should be applicable to all
phases of our lives, if they are to have real meaning. One of
those areas certainly should include our theosophical
institutions. This would constitute real growth, not only for
individual students but also for the groups to which we belong.>>

Should this idea even extend to questioning or challenging the
fundamental
works of HPB, upon which modern theosophy itself, stands?

Louis
