RE: Theos-World Imagination == Manas or Buddhi ?

Dear Jerry:

In the Theosophical classification, BUDDHI serves as 1. A link
between the ATMA and the rest of the embodied principles that
constitute "Man." And, 2. as a "recorder" of the altruism in
thought feeling and deed of the embodied personalities that
constitute the whole chain of a MONAD's experience ( the said
MONAD being the Duad: ATMA-BUDDHI).

Manas ( drawn from the UNIVERSAL MIND, a Kosmic Principle, an
aspect of the ABSOLUTE, is MAHAT ). It (Manas) is one of the
principles that cement (link) the MONAD to the "personality."
The other is KAMA or passion and desire. The most relevant
passages in SD are Vol. II, pp 79 and 167

How, then, can BUDDHI be "imagination," as that is a faculty of
the mind principle, as a result of its union with Kama ?
"Imagination" can be very selfish, whereas the essential
qualification of BUDDHI is its UNIVERSALITY and TOTAL
UNSELFISHNESS, It represents, as I understand it, the excellence
of creativity only.

There is of course the AKASA the universal and impersonal medium
which is sensitive and eternally records all events, thoughts,
feelings of all beings in evolution -- it is the area where the
string of any particular "Karma" can be traced from start to
finish.

<<Otherwise, how does one get past the clutter and
"noise" of the mind? That's where imagination sits. >>

I am sorry that your opinion of the imagination is so
low, Leon. Imagination is part of buddhi, not manas.
