Glad that you brought up this issue. Somehow, there is this idea among
theosophists that celibacy is essential to spiritual progress.

On this issue, I have posted a msg here or elsewhere on the reasoning of
Krishnamurti regarding celibacy and "spiritual" progress, which completely
rejects that celibacy is a requirement. All this came out into focus when his
physical relationship with Rosalind was published. May be it is time to locate
that msg and post it.

It looks like I may have to wait till I get enlightened to find out what is
correct.
