I agree that manas has a dual nature in that it can see in oppoiste
directions, so to speak. But it is not a duality in the sense that I
use the term duality. Here again, words are getting us into trouble.

No, not really. Or maybe I should say, only up to a point.
You can't "purify" the lower mind any more than you can
purify the physical body; which is to say only to a degree.
The more the lower mind is transcended and spirituality
is experienced, the more the lower mind will purify itself
naturally and automatically. Forcing purification is not
the answer.

Consciousness. We become no longer aware of our personality
and rather very much aware of something altogether different.
