Dear Jerry:

Might I suggest that the "mind" is dual depending on its alliance
with either Buddhi (wisdom) or Kama (passions and desires).
See HPB's definitions in the KEY for accuracy. ]

Hence the "lower-mind, or, KAMA-MANAS is to be controlled, and
transcended if the Spiritual Mind or BUDDHI-MANAS is to come into
play..

Question: Is this not to be done by "purifying" the "Lower Mind
?"

If so, then what in us does the work ? what aspect is active
when we say WE transcend the lower mind ? Who are WE ?

This is the reason I go to HPB's definitions, because of their
clarity.

I agree that Fohat is the link. Actually, the human mind cannot
be a link
for spirit
or the individuality, simply because in order to perceive spirit
or identify
with
the individuality, the human mind must be transcended altogether.
