Dear Alan:

RE  "ideas have no date."

What I mean that ideas as ideas have no time limit -- they either
are, or become universal.  I had in mind "universal" ideas.

Specific dates with historical or other associations have general
ideas associated with them and those reside in the minds of a
small or greater group.  No argument there.
