Rig Veda, 10.85.3 reads:
"One thinks he has drunk Soma when they press
the plant. But the Soma that the Brahmins know
---no one ever eats that."
Another translation:
"Soma is thought to have been drunk when
they press the plant. But the soma whom
the Brahmanas know, no one tastes."
