It's illusion as much as anything else manifest is, but this doesn't
mean that they are not actually here on earth with us. Their occult
constitution is said, by theosophy, to differ from Man's in that they
have group souls and no egoic individuality, whereas human souls have
individual reincarnating egos.

Yes. One of the theosophical uses of the term "lifewaves" is for these
seven (or 10) classes of monads.

"Egos from the old Moon Chain" (the 3rd) refers to those monads who were
now incarnating on the new Earth Chain (the 4th) and had either already
either the human kingdom during the previous Moon Chain or were on the
borderline to doing so (what are called Moon Animal-Men). By the time
that the middle of the fourth round of the Earth Chain was reached, all
of these egos were human.

Until that point, opportunity had also existed in the Earth Chain for
those of the animal kingdom that were evolutionarily 'ready and able' to
pass into the lower reaches of the human kingdom. At a certain point in
the middle of the fourth round, an esoteric and occult "Judgement Day"
occured and from that point on no more animals could pass over into the
human kingdom until the next Chain. That is what the "closing of the
door" refers to.

It was those monads who had been vegetables on the Moon Chain who formed
the new animal kingdom on the present Earth Chain. These are still
evolving as animals on Earth and exist side by side with us. They will
continue to for the rest of the Chain, and when we have fullfilled our
destiny, become the humanity of the next.

Theosophical doctrines of chains, rounds, globes, etc. are difficult. If
you want a handy readable reference, I suggest A. E. Powell's "The Solar
System." For a synopsis of the mechanics of animal group souls (and a
whole lot more) also try his "The Causal Body and the Ego." These are
largely compilations of AB/CWL theosophy.

Yes. The animal kingdom evolves through group souls, not an individual
reincarnating ego as human's do.

Theosophy plainly states that there are things going on here on Earth
and throughout the Cosmos that we (including the Masters and even the
Dhyan Chohans) know little or nothing of. I believe that I recently
argued in favor of admitting this incomplete and relative
knowledge-base. I am far from saying that things are one way and only
one way. I simply don't know. What I am saying to you in response to
your questions about animals, chains, etc. is pure textbook theosophy.
You can find it all in those sources I mentioned.
