Dear Dallas:
Many thanks for your reply. It did explain a few things about which
short postings in the past may have given me an incorrect impression.

You're quite right that it would entail study. Trouble is that most of
this knowledge, the facts, were either not recorded or have been written
as opinion with who knows what hidden agenda of the writers. Like, as
you say, by the Romans who took some aspects of an inspiring, benevolent
and sucessful philosophy practiced by the Druids, who, as you say and as
I have been told by those who know far more than I, was descended from
Atlanteans, out of context and turned it negative for the purpose of
domination. So, what does one do when one cannot trust the "written
word"? Seems acceptable to me that one travels past the bounds of space
and time to seek knowledge. Or one could sit and wait for someone, like
a master, to come to one and provide knowledge. I guess I choose the
former, at least this time around.
My husband has all the standard Theosophical books and I have read most
of them. You guys know how I feel about wading through all that text
and how I feel that the process does not deliver for me either a strong
feeling of connection or a clear way to put the theosophy into practice,
now, here, today, with results. That's just me and I know it. But the
basic content of what we are studying and developing appears pretty
identical. I simply feel and "know" in some way that we humans can
transform, shapeshift, travel through time, inhabit and be inhabited by
other lifeforms, that this is "natural" and a part of the learning
process. But to do this we need training, purity and protection.
I have saved your references to Bulwer-Lytton's books for future
reading.

Nicely put and a discipline essential I think.

I think we differ somewhat in our perception here because I believe that
with proper training, preparation and ceremony, and of course a
benevolent and self-responsible motivation, there is neither "passivity"
nor loss of control, nor anything to fear. What I am basically saying
is that I believe "Merlin" exists, is part of us all, and is part of our
development. Perhaps the problem is that, when this became apparent to
me, it also was very obvious that it was "nothing to mess with" and I
probably didn't make this clear, being the stubborn, egocentric,
facetious little person that I am trying hard to develop "out of" :)
We can discuss this for ages and bore everyone else in the process, so I
will finally say that I still feel that "if anthing's possible, then I
can achieve anything. And my time frame is this lifetime."
Happy New Year to you too and looking forward to reading you in the
future, Dallas.
Cheers
Annette
