Dear Brenda:

The subject of prayer as you suggest is an important one. But what aspect
of us does the praying (or "asking"), and why ?

If we live in a universe of Law, then, don't we get what we deserve ?
Don'e we "get" what we "deserve ?"

If we ask for help, don't we get it in the shape of instructions (at least
some are already in our hands ?). My question would be then: Are we using
all we have ? Or do we think it is "too much work ?"

If by Prayer one asks for something to happen which is to come without
effort or work, then who benefits by the gift ? Knowledge and wisdom are
of course free, but wisdom as a supplememnt to knowledge (data) is the
ability to use and apply it. If we receive information as a gift what
should we do with it ? How do we verify it and "make it our own ?"

If we put ourselves in a purely "receptive" mode, then although we will be
often "impressed," or "see visions," how are we going to know if they are
true, valuable, and useful ? What part of our "consciousness" does our
discrimination use and operate with ?

Or are we hoping that the Great Law will somehow be broken and a "miracle"
occur for our special benefit ? And if so would that not be a breaking of
the Great Law ? What is it that we really want ?

I can only ask the questions which occur to me, and of course, I may be
misinterpreting your answer which is brief. But I have not yet been able
to resolve my own questions, as offered, entirely to my satisfaction.

PS NO. I amnot familiar with the I AM Temple decrees. Do they resolve my
questions ?
