The wisdom treasure

The wisdom treasure.

Now let us elaborate a little further the meaning of the way of
simplicity and the wisdom treasure.

For us the Treasure seems to be in the form of knowledge. That
is because it is put forward in such a manner that the lower mind
can make some sense of it. But that is just the first step. The
first key to the Treasure is the key of the lower, rational mind,
and that is a necessary stage we have to go through. Then we
have to take the next step and turn the next key, otherwise we
end up in a blind alley.

The next step is the stage of understanding. Just as simple as
that. To know and to understand is two different things.
Knowledge comes first, then understanding or cognition. What is
understanding? Understanding is a light in the mind. The light
increases when the consciousness grows. What makes this light?
Light comes when the man understands some fraction of reality.
When man through his own effort arrives at understanding of some
important factor of the truth it makes some of his centers more
radioactive, and allows the energy flow to increase, the result
is growth of the consciousness and more light in the mind.

That is education, or what education should be.

But we still rely almost completely on the lower mind. We have
progressed but we have not found the "way of simplicity". We are
still lost in the jungle. We have to go to the third stage. If
we stay on the first and second step we will just lose ourselves
in the maze of complex details, and the more we search the more
difficult it seems to find the Truth, the solution to the
mystery.

The third step is a higher stage of understanding, what is
usually called Wisdom.

The real Treasure is Wisdom. The teaching about the truth,
Theosophy or what you call it, is not in itself the real gift of
wisdom. It is like a push. If the man is ready, that push is
enough to make him awaken to wisdom. If he is not ready, it will
just stimulate his lower mind and make him more confused. If the
man senses the true Treasure, it means that his higher centers
(especially the heart and the head) are beginning to function
consciously. His understanding allows the heart to increase its
radiations and then his higher mind will gradually be able to
assume its rightful place in his life.

His understanding will include infinity and eternity, and for his
amazement he will see that the Treasure is everywhere, it is not
confined to the teaching, as The Revelation. The whole life is a
revelation to his eyes. The Treasure reveals itself to him in
beauty. The beauty of nature, the beauty in human beings, the
beauty of human work, the arts. And he understands that Truth is
Beauty and Beauty Truth.
