excellently in his or her area of activity. The individual must be an
achiever whose life and work deserves recognition and worth emulation by
the community, specially the youth. The Award is presented once a year on
the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak. It consists of a
'Citation', a Shield, a Shawl and Saropa."

AWARD" on the 544th Birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, for her
theosophical, philosophical, cultural vision and dedication to the cause of
elevation and welfare of the human society.

MKR Comments:

The function took place just a couple of days ago in Chennai. Bro Burnier
is looking very good even though you may notice some shaking of her hand,
which should not surprise anyone considering she is 90 yrs old and which is
not common in the population of India.

I am reminded how in 2008, the candidate from USA who ran for the office
and his supporters tried to misinform members that she is sick both
physically and mentally and thus tried to defeat sitting President.
Independent Internet forums played a critical role in keeping members
informed of the real and true fact that she was fit both physically and
mentally, which was confirmed by three independent physicians.

For many months, we have not seen the candidate from USA who lost the
election. One cannot rule out the possibility that he may be very sick
physically and hence unable to be active in theosophical programs in the
USA. The collective wisdom of members world-wide in electing Bro Burnier is
confirmed to be the best that has happened to TS. You decide if there is
some hidden hand behind TS giving protection to it.
